Hear My Prayers
By: Sabrina Church Peek
12-24-03

Hear my prayer;
for a Happy New Year.
Erase all of our fears.

Bring happiness and grace.
For we are needing your touch of grace.

Let us all be thankful;
for our given generation.
Thankful for what you have given.

Let us create the peace;
that you seek.
No more wars.
No more dividers.

Let the walls fall away;
that dive our nations.
Let the generations;
come to you in peace.

FAITH

annalyn rasul
Sometimes when life is running low
And I cannot understand why things are so..
Walking alone in the midst of sorrow
I learn the answers to all I would know
Life is a MIRACLE and its MYSTERY
Believing in GOD brings PEACE and HARMONY.

CAN'T YOU SEE THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE
Latoya Bounds
You say you love me
Yes I can see that
You say you won't hurt me
That I have yet to see

You say that you love me
But you have to stop the feeling
And face your reality
You say that my dreams are fantasy
So I must wake up and face reality

It's hard to see a world without love
You say that in your world if you mess up
It's your but
I believe that
I won't cry but I'll be sad
Because when you left this earth you were happy
Doing what you loved up in the sky or on the ground
Your life became clear, concise, and dear
Your thoughts were not filled with fear but, with joy
Because your family was near

At night when you dreamed
You dreamed of a family with me
Your dreams connected with me
And I could feel you near me
Breathing heavily upon your steed

Facing him I could not bear
To tell him his  father is no longer here
That he was not coming back

Two daughters and one son
All begin to see the light at one
Nina is strong and ripe
Nikita is the very strong type
Nico is just like his father and it shows

They all have qualities like their father
It seems to never disappear
But that's why I like that
Because they'll always have their father near

I always see him
Within them
In their eyes, or their smile
Nina, Nikita, and Nico
With you I could ride the nile

            Life is a rocky slope.
At some point in life you may hit some coarse rocks,
        Then you think smooth sailing,
          Till you hit another rock.

Gloomy and wet seems the rest of my Saturday
Spent in red tomato sheets listening to the unrelenting whispers of the wind
…I travel along, humming with it.
With my eyes closed as it sore from staring at nothing,
But the same walls in my four corners.
Then the wind blew gently that only my heart and soul could feel..
But I shivered anyways.
Then it blew harder this time
As it cast a usual spell along with
The now raging rain
Taking me back in that old familiar scent of melancholy
In the tunnels and galleries of where it all began
The museum of my dreams
My patient burial ground then my “promised land”
A cycle, a common pattern and a cruel joke of life
That never ends till we all learn to laugh.
Then the rain seized for a moment only to burst even harder
Seems endless…..just again, at least.

BEACH
Shereen
Sea-green waves break,
At the shore of sands.
They barely leave a trace,
Just moving the grains around,
And adding a little more.
No footprints and no sandcastles,
With their seashell decor,
As flat as flat can be,
None of the tsunamis or shifting sands,
Just too many grains of neutrality.

No danger, no joy,
Peace enough for two lifetimes,
Not even pain or turmoil.

HOPE
(FOR VICTIMS AND FAMILIES OF HUMAN ATROCITIES EVERYWHERE)
BAKHTIAR SHAMSUDIN
AFTER THE DARKNESS COMES THE LIGHT
SUNSHINE FOLLOWS THE GLOOMY NIGHT
RAINBOWS MARK THE END OF RAIN
HEALING COMES AFTER THE PAIN

BROKEN BOUGHS WOULD GROW ANEW
FLOWERS BLOOM AS HOPES RENEW
EVIL VANQUISHED IN GOODNESS MIGHT
AND WRONG WOULD NEVER CONQUER RIGHT

CRYING WON’T FOREVER WAIL
JOY AND LAUGHTER WOULD SOON PREVAIL
TYRANNY WON’T FOREVER STAY
BAD MEMORIES WOULD FADE AWAY

MAN FROM THE RUINS WILL RISE
ALL THINGS GOOD HE WILL REPRISE
HELL ON EARTH WOULD BE TRANSFORMED
INTO EDEN AS NEW DAY DAWNED

Ina world of darkness
from the sky comes a light,
and so begins the horrific fight
just for today
we hope light will conquer
and relive us from an irratating structure

FORGIVE AND FORGET
Roxanne Martin

As I sit alone wanting to hold you & wondering  where I went wrong,
It was almost like magic to find you were already gone.
I can't believe my life has turned out this way,
So careless, so lonely, so full of despair!
For just a moment I want it to end, but I wake-up & still it is there!
My soul feels like a wilted flower, slowly dying & struggling for life.
My heart a hollow cave, loudly beating & yet silently screaming!
All my sacrifices made in the past are surpassed by thoughtless mistakes.
It's like trying to play catch-up,
But I can't find within myself exactly what it takes.
I can only hope & pray that time does heal all wounds
Whether received from those who are full of hatred,
Or even worse: Self Inflicted!
Maybe one day you will forgive me or perhaps you will just forget me!
Until then I'll remain in my cell, for it's me who can't Forgive & Forget
& is living in what seems to be hell!
I now know why it is so important to cherish all of the little things
In this crazy place we are spinning;
For without them we could never feel love or make love
& then I realize, "My life is worth Living!"

Be Still
John Gent
Turn your thoughts of fear inward,
Be Still
Think only of peace
Be Still
Feel the storms in your head calm
Know that you’ll come to no harm
With each breath that you take
Be Still

Put your faith in the Lord
Be Still
For He stands by your side
Be Still
You will never alone be
For He’s watching o’er thee
And His love is eternal
Be Still

Look out into the expanse of fields before us.
Can you see the many many rows of white orchids
their petals only slightly curved downwards and blowing
in a wind.
Look into the stream bubbling before you.
Can you see the fish swimming beneath the surface.
Their fins brushing back and forth against the
strong current.
Look into the movie theatre of your life.
Can you see your soul.
Enveloped tightly around you, saving you,
from the worst.....

DON'T BE ASHAMED OF WHO YOU ARE!
Sharon Carol Boyd
I reassure myself all the time, but please stop being confused,
Your life can’t amount to much until you’ve found out, how to shake these blues.

Believe in yourself, remember who your are, remember _the person that shouts from your heart.
Look deep inside and find that hunger. The hunger that will make you confidently strive.

In all your glory you can shine like a star, you can make people laugh, isn’t that a start.

Disregard those who mock you and don't believe, as when your standing up tall you can ask them to leave.

CHOICE
Sharon Carol Boyd
Her plight, was it over or had it just begun?
She had to fight her mind, so what lies beneath could start to rise.

‘Reality’
What was this? Was it harsh or still did she fight that battle?
Would the clouds clear and the mist lift, in order for her to see?
Had she lived it so long that it could not be?

The uncertainty lies around and the people walk on by, did she finally have the strength to get up and finally say goodbye?

‘Simple’
All she wants is clear air in her lungs, life through her veins, those chains and locks to be laid, laid, laid.

Only she can cross the bridge,
Only she can choose which ridge.

So she held on tight, she said goodnight, she jumped feet first her too her brand new world.

I NEED YOU.
SUSAN RUSSELL
I NEED YOU HERE, WHY CAN'T YOU SEE.
I NEED YOUR STRENGTH TO WALK WITH ME.
I NEED YOU TO SHOW ME THE WAY TO TRY.
I NEED YOUR SHOULDER WHEN I NEED TO CRY.
I NEED YOUR HELP TO GUIDE MY WAY.
I NEED YOUR LOVE TO HELP BRIGHTEN EACH DAY.
I NEED YOUR VOICE SPOKEN PURE AND TRUE.
I NEED TO HEAR YOU SAY "I NEED YOU TOO."

9/11
Samamtha Steele

I remember where I was that day
the day our towers fell.
I remember what I was thinking then
I remember it very well.
I remember what went through my mind,
When our world came crashing down.
The only thing my mind could say
Was who and why and how?
In class we had to sit
and try to comprehend
What would happen to us next?
Was our world about to end?
Our minds were so clouded
With so much smoke and haze
Just like those still in the Towers
Which were still ablaze.
Void of what to think
Not knowing where to turn
Our fears were only worsened
as our Towers continued to burn.
United we Stand
And alone we shall fall
Let us be unlike our Towers
And continue to stand tall.

Blood
Sean Crabtree

The taste of blood
How familiar the taste
The taste is running through my mouth

Here
I have come back here
My friend the end has come to me
And all I can think of is that taste

Why
Why did I come here
I knew what would happen
And yet I am compelled to meet it

Life
Life is full of mystery
Every corner turning to a darker hall
dragging us down into a bottomless pit

Yet
And yet I search
These halls I walk without care
Searching for the light only seen after pure dark

It
I thought I had found it
But quickly I had been turned away
The urge to come back to what would be my end

Blood
The taste of blood
It is all I can think of
But here comes the light

WAITING FOR DEATH
Natalie Torres

The sun does set upon a dark day and you can see the fears through her darkened face, her heart soon will race when she hears the door slam and this is how it all began
Yells are heard across the street not to sure since they cant see
He's home
to terrorize her dishes left undone dinner not ready this is what he says he's unhappy
She's in pain on a black and blue face the tears don't roll for they'll burn in the open wounds and she doesn't want to be scold
The sun rises and here she lies all of her weakened moments are gone, the pain isn't there for she can rest her thoughts its not a cat and mouse game anymore
Her broken spirit dragged once more to the body bag that's on the floor and that's where it'll remain
Maybe they heard but it was all to late for they finally did something they should've but now she's gone never to return and the next time they wont wait that long for its too late and they want to honor their daughters sake

CANDY CLOUDS
Sandra  R.  Anderson
As the sun sinks low on the horizon
A breathtaking illumination
Ignites wistful imagination
Skies of pink-lavender blush
And silver-blue hue
Red orange and amber
Hint daylight's near through
A brilliant transformation to darkness
Features swirls of color
So perfectly blended
A splendid finale of light is now ended

TRAILER PARK SYNOPSIS
Ojo Hailstorm

My blood roars silent
into the tube of elixir;
holy communion
of the damned and lonely.

The heartbeat of prayer
pounds quickly
for salvation
and gratification.

My blood so pronounced
against liquid escape,
looks beautiful
in anticipation
of rise from weakness.

I adorn my veins
with false hope
of love
and life.

I marry me
till death.

She felt for years unlovable
............he taught her it as fact.
She learned fear and self loathing
And all it took to act
........... like everything was perfect
........... and round fit into square
But when he opened up his eyes
............he saw she was not there.
Her death had passed unnoticed..
...........seemed her life was but a mist
Appearing for a short time
...........then ceasing to exist.

He came then one day from afar
.........to share a brand new world
Of pure untainted beauty
..........where true love lay unfurled.
He taught her much in time so short
..........he taught her love alone
He took her heart and treasured it
..........close against  his own.
Resurrected  in the joy of heart
..........for everything she knows
She breathes now all of  love itself
..........and in it's essence grows.

Victory Villanelle

When darkness falls, and life seems in disarray
Like when something first came to be.
Life is bright and will surely show the way.

When Order followed the new array
And the stars constructed from loose debris
When darkness falls, and life seems in disarray…

Death follows life as night follows day.
A stirring then in that ancient sea!
Life is bright and will surely show the way.

A strange fish began to stray
And the seas’ loss was the land’s glee
When darkness falls, and life seems in disarray.

Eons pass, men join the stately fray,
Seeking more… perhaps to be free.
Life is bright and will surely show the way.

Oh nations, please hear this plea
And come to believe with me,
When darkness falls, and life seems in disarray
Life is bright and will surely show the way.

Ode to thoughts
 Bhuwan Thapaliya

In good old days
Of my childhood,
When I used
To get lost
In the world
Of my novel
Imaginations
They used to call me
An idle dreamer
Now that I
Have grown up
And, whenever,
I get lost
In the world
Of my
Shattered dreams
They call me
A novel thinker

IN HIS ARMY
To: Raven forever shall she be in our Hearts
© MARLONDEMONDHINES 81803

IN HIS ARMY
SWARMING ARE THE
ANGLES OF US TO HIS CALL
AND HAVE OUR PURPOSE FULFILLED
TO REMEMBER THE JOY WE GIVE
AND HOW I’LL ALWAYS LIVE
THROUGH YOUR HEARTS
DEEP IN SPRIT
SO WHEN YOU HEAR THIS
BELIEVE IT’S IN
GOD’S PLAN
HE LIVES AND I’M WITH HIM
AMEN

TO LOVE AND TO BE LOVED
EMILY ERIN CHILDRESS

A bridge between us
A rope on each end
Pulling us together
Pushed by the wind

Love calls us inward
Love beckons out
One stands on each side
Begging a turn-about

Passion meets desire
History unwinds
Nights suddenly seem warmer
God opened the blinds

Grace and destiny pull us nearer
We cannot change fate
The Heavens were calling
It was never too late

Peace overwhelms
Contentment begins
Final farewells
What's left is to win

What starts anew
As life's journey turns
Inward and outward
From this we can learn

A bridge between us
A rope on each end
Pulling us together
Pushed by the wind
