Poetry For Sale
© / ricrocket

How does a poet, profit from his verse?
What prose can I compose, to fatten-up my purse?
Dare my words endeavor to entertain, or shed a brand new light?
Am I brave enough, or so terse, to think I could get it right?
Or, is this real obsession, just an insane writers' curse?
Would it be sufficient, to be inane, or even worse?
A former friend suggested once, "why not change your name?"
"Something catchy, that when uttered, slides seductively from the readersí tongue."
"A name easily remembered, when the rhyming is done."
Indignant, I shuddered rhetorical, "And what's the matter with Rick?!"
"I assure you, that syllable, has wonderful rhyming _ick!"
Maybe background music, is at once, both appropriate, and essential?
Perhaps, but that isn't my forte, I prefer writing poetry...however inconsequential.
So, I now e-post my poetry, my-heart-on display.
There's so much more, and too few lines, or space in which to say.
More to the point, will this poem delight?
Will it win for, me the author, fame, fortune, and an agent overnight?

Sonnet 12
Chris Allen Scott
O our quantum leap into one another !
When we swam into a tomb of marigold
our capes covered the missing door
where our youth ate the philosophers stone
now my ecstasy can play safely dead
if death can now be part of the play
 o he'll grab a sword to defend
melodrama from a time drenched blade
and loosen his boots to draw down
a moon he worshipped for a pillow
so as to rest his head from the sound
 of his ladyloves pointed pistol
but when the curtain falls I shall say
When will our true selves outdo those onstage ?

In your arms is where I want to be
Being caressed by you while we kiss
From my loneliness you set me free
When I'm alone, you're the only person I really miss!

Just want to say that I love you
With you, I feel I already have everything
Blessed men are only few
You're my darling and my everything!

dennis nicholas

As I pause in a restful slumber
exhaling a peaceful sigh
I dream of things, unknown things
To some I wonder why
There are dreams that bring me tears
and dreams of joy I try to make
Then there's the dreams that race the heart
and really make me shake
The dreams that give me warmth and pleasure
are ones of love I hold and treasure
As I begin to wake my eyes do open wide
I lie there in astonishment, wondering
Have I just crossed to the other side

Worm said God is apple.
Canary said God is the hand full of seeds.
Goldfish called God
the water in aquarium.
Lion said God is jungle.
Human was quiet
with eyes wet.

They gave you steel to love.
The cry of horns
for nightingales' symphony
and sewage
to water your plants.
Your jungle is iron beams
and your best friend
is your PC.

Crows are alike.
They sew light to darkness.
Crows are plagues.
They blacken the horizon
but crows donít know
that the life will go on
with them or without.

If there is no rain my tears are.
If there is no dawn
the beauty of dusk is.
And if we canít wash moments
we can wash the hands of mind
in the river of time.
If there is no spring
there is autumn
with colorful leaves.

When silkworm must die
a pair of wings
is given to her.
She flies toward a flame
and burns.

"UNINVITED GUEST"

What am I thinking,

of a brief visit from Death?
 A reunion with survival
down a hole of enormous depth.
 Thoughts losing, laughing, loving.
 Touch passing, fasting, shoving.
 A feeling trapping, collapsing
 collectors rapping, RAPPING!
 And I cried,
 because you weren't there.
Yes, love is this , bliss,
 swallowed in your kiss.
 My thoughts as I entertain
 this uninvited guest.

  --Future Fears--
--Eric Bryan Seuthe II

I am the future
I have no love
I have no life
Why do I live when I clearly shouldn't

The Fallen son
Of a good home
But of bad blood
Raised in hate
Taught with pain
Living in you eyes, I have seen your Fears
And while I have survived before
I fall to fast, from grace

While I seek no life, and I seek no end
I merely exist
What Future is there for me.

To A Friend Such As You
By: Jeremiah Sample

The Sun is gone, and the moon is out
And this is the moment my heart starts to shout
It pounds so fast; it pounds so hard
As if I just ran through a big green yard
It pounds for something so genially true
Like a great friend such as you
If I were to loose your friendship tonight
My heart would fly away as if it were a kite
I canít explain the way you make me feel
But I know for a fact that it is the real deal
You make me smile when no one else can
As if God had made this his special plan
When I stare into your beautiful eyes
It lifts me up way beyond the skies
And when I kiss your soft gentle lips
My heart starts to do some magical flips
I want to hold in my arms so tight
And then watch my body take a magical flight
I look up to God and give him a big thank you
For a wonderful friend such as you

Kostas Hrisos

Today the wind was rattling my window
more than ever.
I wedged a piece of paper in the gap.
It was your letter.

Listen closely to what I have to say,

It may change the way you look at things today,
walk around the block and take a good look,
and don't look at life as if it's coming out of a book
take a good look around and notice
some way these ghetto born children have to stay focused,
over here some might say,
we'll never make it to see what you call a better day
we're tired we're trapped we just cant' take it no more,
only things that pushes us further is our faith in the lord,
so many tears, so much pain,
so many hard days nether you or I can explain,
I have to stay focused is what I tell my self ,
stay focused, stay focused until there's nothing left,
let me free of this struggling life I can no longer watch my brothers and sisters lose there lives,
we're here by character not by choice,
there's no way that I can really take the stand and have a voice,
look at it from this point of view,
life is along battle to get thru,
maybe not for some but for those around my way,
getting up in the morning hustling just to make pay,
there tired of this life but they no, no other,
is there a war on them or just a war on each other,?
we're tired!!
open your eyes can you see? look deep, deep beneath the world you so call see, and look unto our world,
can you see the pain can you see the fear can look a little closer and see how we struggle to raise our kids,
we're tired, we're tired and I can't press it enough,
this life we live in can get to tough,
we didn't ask for this it was given to us,
so now in this life we are stuck,
we're tired!!!

We Are The Freaks
  Jessica Heintzelman
First impressions are everything,
your mother said at first,
she taught you all your manners,
and your manners you rehearsed,
you remember them always,
and use them as you can,
little do you know now,
that you lost them as of ten,
you loom around the school looking for the best,
you bump off or make fun of,
the contents of the rest.
There is a girl whom you named obese,
so you call her all the names,
will the mockery never seas,
after school your days just fine,
but hers is full of sorrow,
she cries to her family,
and yet goes to school tomorrow,
she is one of us and we are the freaks,
in each tear she cries one of us speaks.
There is a boy among us,
whom only looks of nine,
so you call him midget,
what a common line,
it was nothing to you,
just another name,
but to him it was agonizing,
this thing you call a game,
he to is one of use,
and we are the freaks,
the fat short ugly people,
you call geeks.
We will not sit quietly,
and take your abuse,
each time you make fun of us,
you slowly tie your noose,
there are so many of us,
there are more then you can count,
this is one club you cant join,
cause we vote you out,
whether it be zits, looks, height, or smell,
the torcher that you put us threw,
is a thing of hell,
we wake up in the morning,
and the first thing on out mind,
is the reason we had woken up,
a reason hard to find,
but the freaks are dying,
as a reason can't be sought,
suicide is loosing,
at the battle we had fought.
Not all of us are strong,
we are merely blood and flesh,
our minds you have contorted,
from meaningful to mesh,
Marie to was one of us,
her hair was short and red,
they found her with her hair pulled out,
hanging she was dead,
no note was needed to explain her suicide,
she was taunted every day,
and from the names she could not hide.
We bleed when cut,
and cry when sad,
were praised when good,
and punished when bad.
If we are the freaks then why do we cry,
you merrily walk away,
with a meager sigh,
damit she's dead don't you care,
you mocked her every day,
over something as of hair,
you listen to me,
don't you turn away,
if it wasn't for you shed be alive today,
what do you have to say for yourself,
you don't cry,
but you're in perfect health,
you call me freak,
and that just might be,
but when it comes to being human,
your more machine its clear to see,
calling people names is your only fun,
well let me tell you when it comes to freaks your the only one.
We are the freaks and we stand proud and tall....or do we?

A Pizza, A Party and A Moonlight Ride

Jenny was so happy about the house they had found.
For once in her life 'twas on the right side of town.
She unpacked her things with such great ease.
As she watched her new curtains blow in the breeze.
How wonderful it was to have her own room.
School would be starting, she'd have friends over soon.
There'd be sleep-overs, and parties; she was so happy.
It's just the way she wanted her life to be.
On the first day of school, everything went great.
She made new friends and even got a date!
She thought, "I want to be popular and I'm going to be,
Because I just got a date with the star of the team!"
To be known in this school you had to have clout,
And dating this guy would sure help her out.
There was only one problem stopping her fate.
Her parents had said she was too young to date.
"Well, I just won't tell them the entire truth.
They won't know the difference; what's there to lose?"
Jenny asked to stay with her friends that night.
Her parents frowned but said, "All right."
Excited, she got ready for the big event.
But as she rushed around like she had no sense,
She began to feel guilty about all the lies,
But what's a pizza, a party, and a moonlight ride?
Well the pizza was good, and the party was great,
But the moonlight ride would have to wait.
For Jeff was half drunk by this time.
But he kissed her and said that he was just fine.
Then the room filled with smoke and Jeff took a puff.
Jenny couldn't believe he was smoking that stuff.
Now Jeff was ready to ride to the point.
But only after he'd smoked another joint.
They jumped in the car for the moonlight ride,
Not thinking that he was too drunk to drive.
They finally made it to the point at last,
And Jeff started to make a pass.
And by a pass, I don't mean playing football.
A pass is not what Jenny wanted at all.
'Perhaps my parents were right...maybe I am too young.
Boy, how could I ever, ever be so dumb."
As Jeff drove on in a fit of wild anger,
Jenny knew that her life was in danger.
She begged and pleaded for him to slow down,
But he just got faster as they neared the town.
"Just let me get home!  I'll confess that I lied.
I really went out for a moonlight ride."
Then all of a sudden, she saw a big flash.
"Oh God, Please help us!  We're going to crash!"
She doesn't remember the force of impact.
Just that everything all of a sudden went black.
She felt someone remove her from the twisted rubble,
And heard, "Call an ambulance!  These kids are in trouble!"
Voices she heard...a few words at best.
But she knew there were two cars involved in the wreck.
Then wondered to herself if Jeff was all right,
And if the people in the other care were alive.
She awoke in the hospital to faces so sad.
"you've been in a wreck and it looks pretty bad."
These voices echoed inside her head,
As they gently told her that jeff was dead.
They said, "Jenny, we've done all we can do.
But it looks as if we'll lose you too."
"But the people in the other car.?" Jenny cried.
"We're sorry, Jenny they also died."
Jenny prayed, "God, forgive me for what I've done.
I only wanted to have just one night of fun."
"Tell those people's family, I've made their lives dim,
And wish I could return their families to them."
"Tell Mom and dad I'm sorry I lied,
And that it's my fault so many have died."
"Oh, nurse, won't you please tell them that for me?"
The nurse just stood there ~ she never agreed.
But took jenny's hand with tears in her eyes.
And a few moments later, Jenny died.
A man asked the nurse. "Why didn't you do you best
To bid that girl her one last request?"
She looked at the man with eyes oh so sad.
"Because the people in the other car were her mom and dad."
This story is sad and unpleasant but true,
So young people take heed, it could have been you.

Thatís me.
Kostas Hrisos
My body, a bed sheet,
Spread out on the bed of pleasure,
Stained from the excesses
Of my senses.

My soul, a tablecloth,
Spread out on the table of knowledge,
Stained from the banquets
Of my mind.

Thatís  me, a frail curtain,
Hung out on the line of life
Weathered by time.

The Call of Love

Who am I to argue with my heart
its steady beats keeping me alive
life's blood flows warm through me
feeds my body and soul so I survive

Who am I to fight with my soul
the essence of life ~ my spirit
it speaks in thoughts and visions
so I should listen when I hear it

Who am I to disagree with my body
ignore its want for desired touch
when soft passion can set me free
to my beloved I need so very much

Who am I but a man to be complete
of heart, soul and body ~ all three
I will not argue, fight or disagree
this call of Love between you and me

'Depreciate Inflation'
Drew Henley

With time told still lost away
more fears set alone
Breathing melted vitamins
what vitamin was air?
Distanced by time
equality didn't care.
Create new means
new mountains built themselves
still found new reasons
look under discount shelves.
Somewhat forgotten
deepened reasons need some purpose
glanced in the lookers eye
still saw nothing but a circus.
Clowns fall down but get right back up
why'd you let yourself down
you'll end up stuck for luck
Ropes pull through
grab ahold if you can
it takes you back up
just don't forget to stand.
My mother said life was a journey
choose the right trail
I've been looking for a highway
or at least a light rail.

Luther Ray Jones

It's just like starting over
I've started life anew
It's just like starting over
Since I fell in love with you
I never knew what true love was
Just a vision in my mind
I lived on dreams and hoped for things
I thought I would never find
From the first time I kissed your lips
I knew without a doubt
That you were someone special
I could l never live without
As time goes on our love had grown
Even closer everyday
Our fears from the past can never last
And someday will melt away
Your love has given me the strength
And courage to go on
And from now on our hearts
Will have a place to call home

My Loneliness
Chadd Everette Creed
In my lonely room                               A keeper of wills
Crying in a dream                                    A taker of souls
No time to understand                                Reaching out to you
Iím not what I seem                                  Distant yet close

A way of the heart                                   Removing a stare
Of feelings down deep                                Ceasing a scream
A place in my life                                   A knife in the night
If youíll only keep                                  Itís starting to gleam

Down on the ground                                   A swing from the rope
I dare to plead                                       Iím starting to fall
A reverted person                                    Is there any hope
Is all that you see                                  For the lonely at all

A shattered existence                                Leaving an eye open
An unspirited mind                                   Now looking around
Would you care for me                                Hearing my heart beat
Or do you have time                                  What a rhythmic sound
The world of violence                                A scream in my mind
A place of regression                                Iím now wide awake
Feeling so paralyzed                                 A state of confusion
Living in seclusion                                  Itís all I can take

Torn of my honor                                     I pick up a pistol
Stripped of my life                                  Hold it to my head
A dark hollow spot                                   Squeezing the trigger
Of unrelenting strife                                One bullet, Iím dead

They walk quietly
Only the believers see them
Floating to tropical beats
Around us everywhere
See us sleep
See us dream
See us wake
See us scream
Haunt me, Scare me
Love me, Fear me
Be there watching
Watch me sleep
Watch me dream
Watch me wake
Then I scream
I am a believer
I see you walk
I hear your music
I see you everywhere

Does it exist
Or is it a dream
Is it a nightmare
That everyone has seen
Is it a terror
That makes us feel like dirt
It fills us with sadness
The deepest kind known
If it were to leave
There is so much love to be shown
The difference between
Two opposite people
Is the hate that builds up
In each ones mind
There is no need to kill
Because of the color of skin
Killing another person
Doesn't make you a winner
Why do we kill each other
We need not
Do we kill because of hate
or depression
Is it a lack of self-confidence
Its a ferocious feeling
When you walk down the street
Constantly wondering
Will this hateful
Horrifying prejudice
Jump out and kill me
Will it stop me
Dead in my tracks?
For we will always
Have to face the facts!!!

"Watching Eyes"
  anita nahal arya

Every winter night when covered with a quilt
I call sleep to lie beside
The tapestry of my tears now enmeshed
  In the quilt stitching
  Stares at me, accusingly
  "you want to sleep
having woken us up to reality?"
My tired nerves compel my cold hands to
Close the million pairs of eyes
But each opens as my hand moves away
  How can I sleep
With so many eyes watching, waiting for me to get up.

Throwing off the quilt as they jostle me awake
I run out, leaving lighted up eyes following my escape.

Guess who!!!

Today Is V-Day,
The day I tell someone,
The feelings I have for him.
Today Is V-Day,
The day it all begins,
Maybe a life with me and him.
Thatís what Iím hoping for.
Today is V-Day,
The day I tell you,
I want to give you and I,
A shot at u!
Today is V-Day
The day I tell you,
I want to know you more,
I want to see you again.
Today is V-Day,
The day I tell you,
What I really feel for you.
Who I really am.
Today is V-day,
The day you let me know
How you really feel for meÖ
Do you want to be with me?
Today is V-Day,
Were shall I begin?
By telling you how I feel?
Today is V-day,
What can I say?
Cupid shot mw with
One if his arrows!
Know I look at you,
Form a different light!
Today Is V-Day,
And now its time to,
Guess who!

Too late to try, too strong to die.
I admire the birds, but I am too human to fly.
Shaped at this point by too many occurrences;
The big and the small, the impact of it all.
It (that which I am) culminates in each and every moment
I realize over and over, the time I have wasted and wisely spent.
Too far along to start over.
Too aware of my own mistakes, I lay any blame at my own feet.
Too happy to be sad, I realize the bitter within the sweet.
Too aware of my heart to ever hate, all glory to GOD for my life on this date
Too tired to run
Too miserable to be joyful
Too aware of bliss to despair
Too, too much has happened, yet I am having so much fun I can't stop laughing
Yet, I am left too damaged to be inspired
But I continue to live, it is not time for me to retire.
So, I travel on. Too bad, yet, I have stars in my sky that are true
Because they provide me an alternative view, I give thanks to them
And if you are a bright shining star, then thanks to you too.

Forever Heroes
David R Hodges

Soaring silhouettes, defining the city skyline
Symbols of freedom, both yours and mine.
Haven to thousands, literally, the world's heart
Each person contributing, doing their part
No one knew what troubles lay ahead
Trust and Hope, soon to be dead
A fateful day, a thundering sound
So many souls from this earth did bound
Such evil, the world has never seen
Our minds diseased, our hands unclean
Lives ripped from this mortal earth
A global fear has given birth
Heroes are defined by mere mortal men
They are people who do the right thing when
On that day, the heroes did stand
Rushing to help, they climbed hand, by hand
Warnings were shouted, the towers will fall
But, onward they pushed, standing so tall
They saved so many on their fateful ascent
Not worrying about themselves as they went
Their brothers remain forever by their side
The tears of the world, for them have been cried
Their honor and bravery will be their legacy
Forever remembered with adoring majesty
We will not forget, you were our best
Now it is our duty to lay you to rest.
You showed us how to be courageous and strong
Standing higher than those who would do us wrong
We will keep you by our side as we fight this fight
Nothing is finished until we make this right
We say our prayers that God may bless you
And to your memories we will hold true

Painful reminders torture the lonely one
Two-hundred thousand times a day
Two hands, two lips, two bodies together
Oneís ego slowly in decline
Two hands, two lips, two bodies together
One thing missing in one mind
Two hands, two lips, two bodies together
One feels detached from oneís desire
Two hands, two lips, two bodies together
One slipping into zeroís fire

As bold as the rainbow you see in the sky
The blooming of the caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly
Bright, like the leaves as they turn in the fall
Strong, like the wind that can blow through us all
Soft, like the cotton on the sharecropperís plain
Mesmerizing, like the forestry after a good April rain
The sound of childrenís laughter, so warm and mellow as they play
The sweetness of ice cream on a hot summerís day
Radiant, like the bride that has that special glow
Brisk, like the cold that comes with winterís snow
Full, like the spread of the flamingoís tail
Deep, like the ocean on which we sail
Enchanting, as the beauty of the pure white dove
These are the things that describe, LOVE.

I Love/Hate the Player
  Marie Taylor

I loved the way you played
The way you knew how to touch my face
And play with my hair
I loved the way you made me think and think
About things I never even thought about
Til I met you
I hate the way you played
The way you lied your way into my heart
The way you told me that you loved me
when you knew It wasn't true
I hated the way I let you play
The way I let my heart feel for you
Now that we are through finally
I can now see the whole player in you
And I hate it

Ignorance and Knowledge
Whoever believes himself to be ignorant,
knows more than he admits to be true.
While he who believes himself all knowing,
is surely the more ignorant man of the two.

One day
Anthony Long

One day, I saw angels had left a prize here before my eyes, Can a god truly be so wise to know my hearts desires.  Can this luminescent being be cast from the heavens, wrought with this mortal coil?  Averted eyes may linger, only for a moment, eternity will not wait to begin.  I watched you move along slowly everyday to my delight.  I kept you in my sight for you are so divine.  It was slow at first, I couldnít bring my mind to comprehend,
That this vision I behold, could warm a heart so cold in the end.  When I fly, I soar within the confines of your love.  When I cry, I weep for the one that I adore.  I have offered you my soul, connected now to your own to do with as you will.  Years have past us by, my love, although at times, we have been tried.  But you will see I will always be by your side.  We are a team you and I.  I would give the earth and all itís prize just to see my reflection in your eyes.  I would storm this world, if ereí you were lost.  I would beat down the gates of Heaven to make sure you could cross.  I find my self upon the altar of your love.  Cool winds play upon your golden brow.  Could I hold up the sun that gives me life?  Should I bask in its radiance?  What penitence shall be bestowed to the man who strives to be lover to Aphrodite?  Hand me my cattails for I am that man.  Keep them close for I cannot abate my desire to you my goddess.  This match cast by the three diviners must be struck.  I will love you with the unlimited credit of my heart.  I beg to be worthy of this life you have started.  Lost am I in these Silken moments when we touch, and I pray that you feel as much.  I will find the strength to be myself.

  Melissa Rutherford

If I do things for you
don't take it for granted
for soon I could be gone

If I should look into your eyes
look deeply into mine
just remember how that felt

When I tell you I love you
believe it with all you can
because you may never feel this way again

While your laying against my heart
hold that memory close by
because my heart can stop at anytime

If we are to ever be apart
for days, months, years, or forever
remember everything happens for a reason

whenever god chooses to take me
never take for granted what I've done
for soon your memories of me will erase

Projectile vomit in the eye

Don't want to get up wish i could die.
discovered my lips are attached
woke up to cornflakes in my nose
lifes no sense anymore
plenty of food on the floor
nobody talks to me anymore
i sit to midday and watch my husband snore
instead of long walks on the beach
i spend my time trying to distract the leach
i can't remember my last coffee though my cup is still warm
no longer can i sleep til dawn
my husband says he makes more money than me
i have got to go got to pee

-Isaac O'Bannon

I am so close to
doing these
fucked up
little things for you.
Like driving 130
miles in the rain
just to put a rose on your doorstep.
the next time you
have to go to the doctor,
leaving a bottle of wine
for if you're feeling better,
and a can of chicken soup
in case you aren't.

Brenda Aguilar

Your eyes are the window to your soul,

     Your soul is the hiding place for your pain;
Even though this is what I'm told,
I know it's true cause I can feel your pain.

Open your eyes and look at yourself,
     Are you proud at what you see;
Although you may feel you're not worth much else,
There's so much more you can be.

The greatest gift that can be given,
     Is so hard to find;
Sometime life may seem not worth living
Love's the gift that's so hard to find.

Back Home At Midnight
Christopher Viard

This is too cold
Too dark
Too small
Far from how it was

This is warm inside
But with broken and missing parts
Keeps everyone on edge, although laughing
Furrowed at the brow, although smiling
And quietly sad

Lights on bright
In the windows without people
Lights dimmed down low at night
In the houses
Where they exist

Countries Without Borders

I see their signs on the boulevard
Their faceless envoys drive by
In new cars
Know them well
They only live to buy and sell
The killer walks abroad
He keeps his family
In the kitchen
The products that
Never fade
Allow the soul to trade
For madness,
To bend the weather
To kill for the self
And watch others die,
Legally innocent --
With their children they cry
Not wanting to ask why?
So many live the lie,
Bludgeon the market
Run from the trough
Justice is coming
Mad fellows

Whispers of a seasonal dream
Aztec rebirth
Dawn of Ages
Wheels of time
Roll over memory of kings
Their houses crumble
All is as it should

If tears Were a lotion of beauty,

   I could match
Great Helen's face to the nth degree.
Perhaps then, I could easily catch
   Your damn heart,
And then toss it in with a whole batch.

If tears could make a silly goose smart,
   I could laugh
Loudly and light-heartedly depart.

I use so feel so broken inside
then you came along
you fixed everything that was wrong
i know your heart has been broken in the past
but now you found me
and i try so hard to mend your broken heart
we help each other
which means so much, which makes us not give up
we'll have the rest of our lives together
to mend whatever is wrong
and in the end we'll live
happily ever after
together we are
something so unique, something so rare
something that everyone in the world wished they had.

Poo On You,
look at your shoe,
cant you see that huge chuck of poo,
hanging there like a dead rat,
howz about that,
cant you see why everyone is looking at you,
you smell bad and have poo oh your shoe,
you could go home and wash it off,
but no you have to be a crum and smell like a bum,
no one likes to sit with you,
when u smell like a rotting shoe,
with food on your face and poo on your shoe
your never even gonna be that cool

Stephen Marchand

Tumbleweed hair, silk laced to the ground
Her satin lined figure entangled in my mind
Vision of her beauty, A whisper from the wind told only with the enchanting breeze

Her deep compressed body
Sanctuary still her own, marked with the sun filled laughter of life
The perfect silhouette
A motionless reflection taken from the moon,
granting a glimpse of harmonious perfection

Shadows of Her Meadows
david alger

In the shadows of the night-
whispers howling,
chillens crawling;
stars are stalling-
the night;
from surrendering the dark
to the light.

In a chase-
erasing my face,
in a hurry;
hurry scurry-
staring on
caring slightly
moving not.

More beautiful than a waterfall,
Hotter than a fire,
As you walk by me down the hall,
You give me what I desire

If I could for just one minute,
Stop the school,
And everyone in it

Just to look upon your face,
With all my purity,
Seeing you smile,
Gives me so much security

Losing you
Hope Lopez

Since I met you
I know that you are the only one for me.
We have had some rough times together.
Now I have messed up so bad that you are leaving me.
Losing you is very hard on me.
I hope that there is a way that I can win you back.
You told me that if there was anyway of you coming back to me.
I would have to do a lot of changing.
I know that words are cheap and actions speak louder than words.
All I want to do is tell you that I love you.
Losing you is like a pain in my heart giving me no choice to live.
I hope that we can get back together.
I love you with all my heart.
Let's please fix our relationship.

In Place of Silence
Nancy Neel

In place of silence, cry out loud in pain.
In the face of hurt, burst forth with strength.
On the winds of change, toss high your dreams.
From within your depth, lay hands on hope.

On the neck of fear, hang brave your name.
At the hand of death, breathe free your life.
To the sands of time, pledge true your vow.
From within your core, take hold of faith.

In sorrow's yoke, lift proud your face.
Beyond next day's dread, walk far with trust.
Through earth's dark night, sleep well in peace.
Deep within your heart, make room for joy.

 My Needs
 Teresa Dianne Hargrove

Touch me with your tender hands ~hold me in your arms.
Make me laugh, give me hope, subdue me with your charms.
Fill my heart with passion as only you can do.
Put the spark back in my life and give me love that's true.
When I face the things I fear, let me hold your hand.
Catch me when I'm falling.  Give me strength to stand.
I know not what the future holds but one thing I have learned...
All these things I ask of you, I give you in return.
